Medochemie Hellas, affiliate company of Medochemie Ltd an international Pharmaceutical Company, is looking for a talented, dynamic, and career-oriented Accountant to join the Accounting Department in our offices in Athens, Greece.

Role description

The primary objective of this position, under the supervision of the Head of Accounting, is to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions.

Duties

· Updating accounts payable and performing reconciliations.

· Process transactions according to stated procedures so that all transactions are recorded in a timely and accurate manner.

· Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.

· Complying with Month End closing requirements and deadlines.

· Reconciliation of GL accounts with subledgers/ Intercompany transactions & balances / Accruals/ VAT / Withholding taxes

· Participate in financial audit, preparation of information needed and oversee the whole process,

· Monitor My Data requirements and perform all the relevant necessary actions through the accounting software and AADE.

· Warehouse accounting control.

· Post FA purchases, run depreciation and reconciliation of Fixed Assets Register

· Active participation in the preparation of the Cash flow forecasts,

· Prepare and Send VAT Returns, Withholding taxes, Intrastat (VIES), along with any other tax-related submissions, where required (stamp duty and/or other levies etc.)

· Support to the preparation of the annual financial statements compliant to G.A.S.(Ε.Λ.Π.),

· Manage ad hoc projects and active participation in all accounting activities according to needs.

· Support the Accounting Manager with any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting Finance or relevant discipline.

· A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in accounting, ideally within a structured accounting team in a corporate setting.

· Solid understanding of Tax and Accounting legislation.

· Proven knowledge of local GAAP (Greek Accounting Standards).

· Knowledge of payroll & labor legislation is desirable

· Previous experience of driving Audit process will be considered a plus.

· Strong familiarity with Accounting & Reporting ERP systems is desirable. The use of PYLON/BIQ will be an asset.

· Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.

· Good command of the English language

· Outstanding, organizational & time Management skills
